Geoff Mueller is senior editor at The Drake Magazine and just authored the book "What a Trout Sees: A Fly-Fishing Guide to Life Underwater." The photography in the book is by Tim Romano and the forward is by Tom Bie (owner/publisher of the Drake Magazine). Geoff will be here in the shop on April 18 from 6-7pm to give a quick talk about the book and to sign new copies. Put this one on your calendar!
A North Vancouver native, Geoff squandered many a workday wandering the interior rivers and still waters of British Columbia, flats of the Caribbean, waters of Central and South America... the list goes on. Geoff will be here in the shop on April 18th for a presentation and book signing. Here is what Kirk Deeter had to say about the book in a recent Field and Stream review:
“The lessons are clean and concise. The logic is plain. He (Mueller) answers questions I had never thought to ask. Mueller is a fantastic writer, and the descriptions in this book are easy to track. I'd describe it as a "text book" because the layout and format do indeed look very "instructional" (and I mean that as a compliment), but it's far more engaging than any text book I've ever read.
- Kirk Deeter
As always, our third-most-favorite shop mascot (AKA our Yeti cooler) will be in attendance as well. This is a FREE event. We're looking forward to seeing you here. If you have any questions, call us here at the shop at 877.464.0034.

Join Trouts Fly Fishing and Orvis for our legendary Casting & Cocktails Event. This FREE casting clinic will be held in Washington Park from 5:00-7:00pm on the Southeast corner of the park right at the intersection of Louisiana and Gilpin. This is a fun event that is geared to help improve your fishing knowledge and skills with the sole purpose of getting you into more fish. This is also a great event if you are a novice fly angler or if you have never had a chance to cast a fly rod before.
Here’s what we bring - a quiver of premium Orvis Fly Rods and a massive Yeti cooler filled with ice.
Here’s what you bring - a desire to learn how to fly cast or improve your current casting skills... and BYO canned B (be aware, Park regulations state beer needs to be 3.2%).
