Gear Review: Palsa Pinch On Floats Strike Indicator

By: Jul 06, 2011 | Author: Tucker Ladd
I was first introduced to the Palsa Pinch On Floats strike indicators while fishing the Yampa River tailwaters below Stagecoach State Park.  This was probably 10 or more years ago, a time when the yarn poly-vee was as good as it got...at least, so I thought!  While sight fishing a decent run, holding a few wily rainbows, I noticed that whenever my massive "ball of yarn" came over them that they would move to the side.  Once my rig had drifted through, yep you guessed it,...

Gear Review: Nomad Guide Landing Net

By: Jun 28, 2011 | Author: Tucker Ladd
I will say I am impressed with Nomad's Long handle "Guide" net after using it on several outings and landing multiple species of fish. Gear Review: Sage Xi3 990-4 Fly Rod

By: Jun 14, 2011 | Author: Tucker Ladd
I must start off by admitting that when it comes to fly rods, I have always preferred something with a more moderate action.  So when I packed up a 9wt. Xi3 for my trip to Bolivia, I was a bit hesitant that the rod would be a bit too fast for my liking.

Gear Review: Loon Outdoors UV Knot Sense

By: May 21, 2011 | Author: Tucker Ladd
Loon Outdoors UV Knot Sense is a must have product when you head out to the river.  Besides using it on just about every large knot I tie, here is a list of things I've used it for: ·       I've fixed pin hole leaks in my waders. ·       Re-attached a felt sole to the bottom of my buddies Patagonia wading boot. ·       I've snipped off the heads of...
