Still Water Fly Fishing In Colorado

By: May 21, 2014 | Author: Tucker Ladd
Here is another interesting article by Scott Willoughby of the Denver Post about the challenges and rewards of fishing lakes and reservoirs here in Colorado.  “With runoff upon us and Colorado's river on the rise, area anglers are turning their attention to the lakes and reservoirs to get their fishing fix. Not that they ever turn too far away.” – Scott Willoughby and the Denver Post. Stay tuned to Trouts Fly Fishing over the next few weeks as we highlight...

May Fishing Report: Bear Creek

By: May 20, 2014 | Author: Kevin Cooke
Flows are currently rising on bear creek with current flows above 115.  When I started fishing the creek on Sunday the water was at 100 cfs around 3:00 PM and slowly dropped to 94 cfs as I was leaving around 7:00 PM. Water clarity was a little murky when I first started but appeared to improve as the afternoon continued. South Platte River Fly Fishing Report: May

By: May 15, 2014 | Author: Tucker Ladd
The fishing on the main stem of the South Platte River continues to be excellent with flows right in line with historic averages.  On one of our recent guide trips we started fairly early and we were on the water before 8:00am.  The water was clear and the Stream Flow was at 288 CFS.  We had clear skies and the river was pleasantly un-crowded. We began fishing just downstream of Deckers and found a few feeding rainbows right out of the gate. From a rigging perspective we went...
