It is election season and it is important to get out and vote. We ran a casting call on Facebook a few weeks back to round up a few die hard fishing dogs. It was tough to narrow the field, but here are the twelve pups we really liked. Photo by Adam Barbour The San Juan River is one of the most prolific tailwater fisheries in the West and is located roughly seven hours from downtown Denver. The fish are big and plentiful. The waters below the Navajo Dam spawn abundant flora, which in turn creates a fine environment for insect life, which then supports one of the most consistent trout populations in any large river, both in terms of quantity and average fish size.
As I ran up on the scene of my partner and his hooked fish, warning bells went off immediately in my head. Red flags went up - ‘danger, danger.’ My initial split second assessment of the the situation: “this is not going to end well.”
