Florida River

River Information

The Florida River is a tributary of the Rio Grande. The river is divided by the Lemon Reservoir and home to Rainbow, Brown and Brook Trout. 


Hatches

Winter/Spring: Midges, Mayflies

Summer: Mayflies, Caddis, Terrestrials, Stoneflies, Attractor Dry Flies

Fall: Mayflies, Midges, Caddis 


Seasonal Conditions

The Florida river will fish best from the end of runoff through fall. 


River Access

Accessing the Florida River is not for the faint of heart. The only public waters exist above Lemon Reservoir and require considerable hiking over rough terrain. The rewards however can be the opportunity to explore waters full of wild trout that are very rarely fished.
