Carp on the Fly - River Report

October 17, 2012
Author: Will Rice

It might be a bit windy out there but carp fishing season on the Denver South Platte is not over yet.  We just received this fishing report from our customer Dan who went out with us this past August on the Urban Carp Extravaganza and caught his first carp on the fly.  It sounds like Dan is starting to get his carp game dialed in.  Here’s the report:

“Hit the DSP in town and was able to get one to hand, tons of fish in shallow water.  I had more good shots in 2.5 hours than in the last two months.   I got him on a headstand worm, orange rabbit strip clipped close.  Should be better this this week after the wind dies down. A better fisherman than me might have gotten 3-4 today.  I spooked a bunch of fish in the shallow as it was getting too dark to see.”

Great report, keep them coming our way.  If you have any questions about fly fishing for carp on the Denver South Platte feel free to call the shop or stop on by.  Trout's Fly Fishing is here to help.
