Help Protect Our Rivers

If you fly fish in Colorado pay attention to this: with strong bipartisan support, the Colorado General Assembly has passed Senate Bill 224 to create the Protect Our Rivers license plate. The plate will be available to all CO residents through a tax-deductible contribution of $25 to Colorado Trout Unlimited and 100% of the funds will be used locally to protect, conserve and restore Colorado rivers. Here’s what you can do if you support this effort and Colorado TU: sign the CTU Petition which will be presented to the powers that be to demonstrate that this effort has support in the field.

Gear Review: Sage ONE Switch Rod

Our Guide Manager Reid Baker just led our Switch Rod and Spey casting lesson last week and was able to field test and write a gear review about two Sage ONE switch Rods. Reid has extensive experience fishing in British Columbia and the Pacific Northwest.  He and our students cast the Sage ONE 5116-4 and 6116-4 and these rods produced results. Fly Fishing Report: May 3rd

Last week brought a mixed bag of weather to the Front Range of Colorado.  We fished in blizzard conditions in the South Platte Drainage on Wednesday May 1^st but by Friday May 3^rd the weather near Deckers was back in the 50s and the sun was out. You have to love spring fly fishing conditions in Colorado.
