Casting & Cocktails: Thursday July 24th

Join Trouts Fly Fishing and Orvis for Casting & Cocktails Thursday July 24th in Denver's Washington Park.  This is a FREE fly rod casting clinic that will be held from 5-7pm.  Never cast a fly rod before?  No problem.  We’ll get you casting in no time at all. This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in getting a few tips from the casting experts.

Here’s what we bring: A quiver of premium Orvis Fly Rods and a massive Yeti cooler filled with ice.

Here’s what you bring: A desire to learn how to fly cast or improve your current casting skills... and BYO canned B (be aware, Park regulations state beer needs to be 3.2%).

Fly Fishing Report: The Rio Grande River

Trouts Fly Fishing just wrapped up our annual hosted trip to the Rio Grande River.  This trip has proven to be a great fly fishing adventure in the past and this year it was no exception.

The big question on everyone’s mind as we packed up our gear and headed out the door: with the abnormally high flows this year across the state, what was the river going to look like and more importantly… would we find the bugs?

Learn the Basics Of Fly Fishing - June 18th

If you would like to learn the basics of fly fishing we have two seats available in our upcoming class being held Wednesday June 18th from 5:30-6:30pm. The goal of this class is to instill a basic understanding of fly fishing gear, equipment, and essentials to prepare first time anglers for a day on the water.  We also spend quite a bit of time teaching how to tie knots and rigging. We will also have plenty of time for hands on questions and answers. There are currently only two (2) spots available!

On-Stream Intermediate Fly Fishing School: July 19th

This is a one day fly fishing school that demonstrates the finer points of dry fly fishing and allows students who have some experience to advance their skill level and fine tune their approach.  Our Intermediate Dry Fly Clinic will be held at our WCR Ranch - located on a small tributary of the upper Colorado River, approximately 35 miles in length. The creek rises in northwestern Grand County, in the Arapaho National Forest at the top of the continental divide and flows southeast toward the Colorado River.
