Tim Romano just got back from a fly fishing tarpon mission in the Florida Keys and Miami – to call his fishing report and slide show epic… is an understatement.
“My trip to Key West last week was a nutty one: two rods broken, three falls by one guy off the bow, a destroyed rental car, night fishing for tarpon, and a few new species in the bag.”

Based on the Arkansas River report from April 6th, a return trip was required. This time we decided to try a new section of the river and fished the lower Ark between Cañon City and Cotopaxi. The weather was about the same – chilly with moderate and sporadic wind... and then the hatch WENT OFF.

This fish was hooked and landed on our Featured Property where we are holding our Switch Rod and Spey Casting Clinic - make the jump for the full fishing report
We have only three seats left for our Switch Rod and Spey Casting Clinic being held on April 20th. The class is only $275 and you will get a chance to get into big migratory rainbow trout that are moving from the Colorado River up into the Lower Blue River. In addition to a great fly fishing opportunity, you’ll also get to learn the basics of two handed casting and the benefits of single hand casting with a longer fly rod.
