I wanted to drop a quick note to the Trouts Contingent and deliver this preliminary fishing report from the Andros South Lodge.  We left for the Bahamas on Friday evening, flying from Denver to Charlotte on a red eye.  From there, we flew south to Nassau and connected with a puddle jumper over to Congo Town.  After arriving at the Andros South Lodge, our team of seven clients were ready to get after it.

2014 Snowpack Update - Time to Get Ready for a Killer Season!

With March nearly half way over, it's time to start looking forward to spring and summer, and the amazing fishing options these times of year have to offer.  The winter of 2013/2014 has been tremendous, with ample snowfall across the state.  While winter is certainly not over, it is fair to say that we are looking at a very healthy snowpack leading into our spring and summer fishing seasons.  Currently we are at a Statewide Snowpack of 116% of the historical average, well above where we were this time last year (77%).  With the exception of the Southwest part of Colorado, every river basin is currently sitting well over 100% of average.  These are fantastic numbers to see, and they should do a lot to help bring us to healthy reservoir levels, in addition to ensuring a good flow of snowmelt feeding our rivers across the state.

It looks like we’re officially off to a good start here in Central Colorado from a snow level perspective.

“The Natural Resources Conservation Service, an agency in the U.S. Department of Agriculture, says as of March 1, Colorado snow levels are 16 percent above normal.  The state should be in good shape even if the next few weeks do not bring as much snow as usual.” – Mike Lamp, Colorado Public Radio

If you've never connected with Trouts Fly Fishing, here is what it looks and feels like. Last fall, Trouts Fly Fishing and Guide Service headed out to the YR Ranch and spent a few days camping and fishing on the river - throwing both single and double handed rods. We had all kinds of weather and fishing conditions thrown at us. This quick video gives you a chance to experience what we saw on the water in high definition.

There is nothing we like better then getting a fly fishing report from a customer after we have set them up with gear for an international fly fishing adventure.  We just received this report from Chris S. who we first met back in January.

“I just returned today from Christmas Island ... it was incredible,” said Chris.  “Giant trevally, big bones, all kinds of other species ... including a Barracuda!”
