I purchased this line as an all around warm water line in an 8wt. Rio's Outbound taper is an absolute rocket. Shooting miles of line and turning over big flies is no problem, shooting line and casting is definitely this lines strong suit. The distinct color transition between head and running line is a great added feature, as you can see exactly where the line loads the rod. Versatility and durability is not the greatest.

I currently have this line set up on my Scott STS 9wt for big toothy critters, and it also saw action in the Salt Marshes of Louisiana battling some feisty Red Drum. As for as the taper is concerned, this line is ideal for BIG flies and less than ideal wind conditions. The large, short head can push a 10" muskie streamer through the wind and right into the weed line. It is definitely a powerful taper, and shooting line is no problem.
