2013 Education Curriculum

At Trout’s, our mission is to make fly fishing more accessible for everyone.  Whether you are brand new to fly fishing or if you are a seasoned angler, we have classes, events and trips that will help you take your fly fishing to the next level.  For the Spring Season of 2013 we have cooked up quite a curriculum.

For anyone who has never fly fished before or if you are just looking to go back to the basics and reinvent your fly fishing from the ground up, our On-Stream Beginner Fly Fishing School is a must.

If you are a more seasoned angler but have never tied your own flies, our Introduction to Fly Tying Class will add an entirely new dynamic to how you approach the river… and the salt water.

Think spey and switch rods are designed only for the Pacific North West, BC, and Alaska?  Think again.  Check out our Switch Rod and Spey Casting Clinic that is being held on the renowned YR Ranch on the lower Blue River below Green Mountain Reservoir.

Gallatin River Tsunami

This recent video from the Gallatin River in Montana caught our attention.

"How did you know this was going to happen?"

"I was passing by on the way to Big Sky. It must have started 10 minutes earlier. I drove by a section of the stream and saw a brown roiled mess from bank to bank. I drove down stream and found people on a bridge, watching the ice pass under them. I continued down until I was in front of the ice. Lucky - right. I used my I-Phone."

We've never seen anything like this before.  You?
