Fly Fishing for Carp Trivia Contest

With the Carp Slam less than a month a way we’re going to crank up the carp rhetoric in August.  Trouts Fly Fishing has teamed up with Carp Pro Magazine for this carp trivia contest.  The first person who can answer these questions correctly here on the Trouts blog will win brand new Orvis carp trucker hat:

Q#1: What is the scientific name for the renowned common carp that is the predominant carp species in the South Platte River that runs through Denver?

Q#2: On September 7, 2013 Denver Trout Unlimited will unleash its’ ________ th Carp Slam fly fishing tournament.  Once the 2013 Carp Slam Cup is awarded, how many years will this competition and fundraiser been in action?

OK, we have a winner.  Or actually… we have two winners.  Question #1 and #2 were pretty easy.  Question #3 was a technical curve ball. The two answers that are acceptable per our pals over at Carp Pro Magazine: a) spawning fish or b) sunning fish.  We’ll give this one to “Fred” and “Dead Drift.”  Stop by the shop to pick up your limited run Orvis Carp Caps.  Nice work everyone and thanks for following Trouts Fly Fishing!
