Author: Will Rice

Trouts Fly Fishing is happy to announce the successful kick off of our 2014 Fly Fishing Education Curriculum.  On Saturday March 29th we had our inaugural On-Stream Beginner Fly Fishing School where we were able to introduce the sport of fly fishing to a new group of students.

The flows on the main stem of the South Platte River were right around 125 CFS and the water clarity was excellent.  With clear water and temperatures right in the mid 50s it was classic springtime conditions here in Colorado.

Our pals over at Gink And Gasoline and Nautilus Reels put together this time-lapse video of a reel being constructed.  We spend quite a bit of time talking to our customers about machined aluminum reels that are designed, manufactured and tested right here in the United States.  This video is a great example of how it is done.

Join Trouts Fly Fishing and Tucker Ladd and explore one of the most underrated and unique trout fisheries in the state of Colorado.  Only TWO SPOTS LEFT!

The San Luis Valley is Colorado’s largest mountain valley and the Rio Grande River is one of our state’s best-kept secrets. The window to float the Rio Grande is small and we’re going with guides who know this river like the back of their hands. If you have never had the chance to experience the Rio Grande by raft you do not want to miss this unique fly fishing opportunity.

I’ll have to admit, when I first got wind of this story from the Field & Stream Fly Talk crew I was a bit suspect.  Then… I saw the video.
