Trouts Fly Fishing has a dynamite line up of special customer events and educational opportunities during the month of May.  Here is a summary of what you’ll see and the classes we are offering.

MAY 2013

Tying Deadly Streamer Patterns

May 9th

1 Night Only - $50/Person

6pm-8pm

Designed to expand fly tier’s ability to create effective streamer patterns with the sole purpose of catching BIG fish. In this class you will learn specific techniques including articulation, spinning deer hair, and other methods designed to maximize movement of advanced streamers. 

 

A Night with Kirk Deeter – Author/fishy dude

Come join Kirk Deeter on the second floor of the shop for an intimate evening where the author of Fly Fishing For Carp will give you a sneak preview into his new book as well as give you some inside information gleaned from his carp adventures here in Colorado and across the United States.  Fly Fishing for Carp talks about the history of the species, eating behavior, and challenge they pose for the fly angler.  Kirk will also talk about what he has on his plate for 2013.

 

CASTING AND COCKTAILS!  May 23rd

5:00-7:00 PM  - FREE CLINIC

Do you want to get the feel of a fly rod for the first time and learn the basic mechanics of fly casting?  Interested in testing out a Scott A4 7 wt rod before heading out on the Denver South Platte River?  Do you want to learn how to double haul, increase your line speed and punch your casts through the wind for more accuracy?

Trouts will bring a quiver of world class single handed rods, a Yeti cooler full of ice, and a professional casting instructor to pull it all together. 

Our buddies at Pabst Blue Ribbon had such a good time at our last C&C event that they will be joining us again in May.

Where: the South East Corner of Washington Park (Louisiana and Gilpin).

 

On-Stream Beginner Fly Fishing School

May 25th

Full Day Trip

$195 per person (class size limited to six anglers) 

This is a one-day fishing class held on one of our famous private properties. Students will learn the basics of fly fishing including casting, reading water, entomology, and fly selection. This class includes day use of: waders and boots if needed, rod & reel, tippet, flies. Trout's Guide Service also includes lunch, a on stream river guides/instructors, and a chance to hook beautiful Colorado rainbow and brown trout.  This is a GREAT deal for $195 – for a report from our March class CLICK HERE.
