Once again, Trouts Fly Fishing has a knock-down-drag-out lineup of customer events for the month of November. Please join us here in the shop for our FREE events this month and also participate in a GIANT fundraising night for the Defend the Upper Colorado River Coalition on November 8th. We’re going to have some fun this month and we hope you join us.
A Night with Kristen Mustad - Nautilus Reels When: Nov. 7th, 6-7pm
Please join Trouts Fly Fishing in welcoming Kristen Mustad from Nautilus Reels as he speaks about the importance of reel design and manufacturing for both salt and fresh water fly reels. Thinking about making a trip to Miami or southern Florida anytime in the near future? In addition to a general discussion about reel design and mechanics, Kristen will talk about fly fishing in and around Miami and Biscayne Bay: bonefish and permit opportunities as well as taking shots at night time snook and tarpon. Want to get bent and put your fly reel to the test offshore? He’ll talk about that too.
Nautilus Reels are built by 7th generation metal mechanics manufacturers that have been in the fishing industry for all seven generations. What has set seven generations apart from the rest of the world is the family’s obsessive dedication to the development of revolutionary technologies for the production of small metal parts, and the redesigning of existing products and processes to make them more efficient and effective.

“Few books have had the impact on an entire generation that Trout Bum has had on the fly-fishing world. The wit, warmth, and the easy familiarity that John Gierach brings to us in Trout Bum is as fresh and engaging now as was when it was first published twenty-five years ago. “
