The Davy Knot
Author: Trout's Staff
I learned this knot from an old friend of mine about 10 years ago, and it has been my go to, never fail knot ever since. The best part, it can be tied in about a third of the time of other fishing knots. The Davey Knot was created by Davy Wotten when he was a kid fishing in the UK. He had no formal
instruction as to how one should properly attach a fly to your line, so he just made something up. What he was able to create was a super simple and small knot that had hearly 100% break test. Over the years, The Davy Knot has become an essential knot in every competitive anglers quiver of tricks and skills as well, as it allows them to change flies frequently and efficiently.
