Current Fishing Conditions:

Fishing is great on the Blue even with lower flows, the Trout will always eat and BWO's are coming off in more abundance, which have the fish feeding hard when the bugs are present.  With the lower flows, small tippets and fies are a must, as is a stealthy approach to the river and the fish.  Try fishing a bit North of town to find less pressure and less spooky fish.

Seasonal Overview:

The Blue is an awesome and rewarding river! Fish grow very large and as we all know it is an execellent Mysis Shrimp fishery (when the flows are correct)! The Blue River below Dillon is a great day trip and is roughly an hour drive from Denver (Traffic Depending). It is also a great spot to drop your significant other off at the Outlet Malls while you get a good days worth of fishing in! However you are seldom the only angler on the water but there is still plenty of fish to be caught!

Tips & Tricks

Try sight fishing using a bright colored egg or worm as your indicator and ditch the Thing-a-Ma-Bobber.
