Fly Tying 102 - Beginner Fly Tying
This class is designed to give participants the skills to tie basic fly patters. You will learn about the many different types fly tying tools, materials and techniques, and by the end of the course will have learned to tie some of the fundamental fly patterns including : the Hares Ear, Pheasant Tail, Elk Hair Caddis, and Wooly Bugger to list a few. This is a 8-hour, 4 class series with classes typically held on Tuesday or Wednesday evenings at the Shop from 6pm - 8pm. Don’t have your own equipment? No problem, all tools and materials will be provided for unlimited use during the class for FREE.
Fly Tying 201 - Intermediate Fly Tying
This course focuses on the second stage in a fly tiers evolution. Learn how to tie more advanced pieces of flies with proven time saving skills and techniques. These pieces are carry over into hundreds of patterns like parachutes, hair wings, soft hackles, deer hair and rubber legs. This workshop also focuses on the proper use of tools like rotary vices, whip finishers, and dubbing loops. If you already know how to tie flies and are looking to advance your skills and use of materials, this is the class for you. We spend 50 percent of our time focused on patters for fish other than trout. All materials for the class are provided, please bring your vice and tools. Fly Tying 301 - Advanced Fly Tying
If its new and hot we got it and we will show you how to use it. This course focuses on advanced techniques, patterns and new tools and materials. Learn how to tie with epoxy, stack and spin deer hair, weave floss and bolo. This class will equip you to tie thousands of flies for trout, salmon, warm water, and saltwater species. In this course, students learn about the fundamentals of fly tying that apply to all patterns and techniques as they tie a selection of easy to learn, yet effective fly patterns.
