Bi-Weekly Video Fishing Report & Forecast - January 23rd Edition

Ivan Orsic / Jan 23, 2020

Heads up! This is the last Bi-Weekly Video Fishing Report & Forecast of all time. Don't worry, the series isn't going anywhere, instead, we're renaming it. Ivan doesn't want to spit out a mouthful of words at the beginning of every video. So, starting in two weeks, we're renaming the Bi-Weekly Video Fishing Report & Forecast, to the Trouts Fishing Report. But, we're not convinced that's the best name. We want you to get in on the fun, so, NOW through February 5th, leave your best name for this series of videos in the comments on our YouTube channel. We'll select a winner in TWO WEEKS and the winner will receive a Trouts Prize Package. So, get to commenting. WIN A TROUTS PRIZE PACK!

Back to the action, it's still winter which means nothing much has changed. Except for some pretty significant flow bumps along the South Platte. Most notable of these bumps are the Dream Stream (127 cfs) and below Cheesman Reservoir (252 cfs). SAY WHAT! As always, Midges, BWOs, and attractors like eggs, worms, and stoneflies will get the job done during the winter. You don't necessarily need to size down your tippet as much when the flows bump like this.

With midges serving as the most common fare on both tailwaters and freestones alike, pay attention to your drift and depth. Adjust those and the patterns should matter less. Prefer your River Reports in writing? No problem, be sure to check out our Fishing Information page for up-to-date fishing reports!
