We're proud to bring a new weekly feature to the blog this season. Every week, we'll bring you a guided trip report fresh off of the water from one of our professional Fly Fishing Guides. Each week, we will feature a report that will detail location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging. For this week's feature, here's a report from Trouts Denver Guide Tucker Bamford.
LOCATION: South Platte At Deckers
GUIDE: Tucker Bamford
LENGTH OF TRIP: Full-Day Walk/Wade
"We fished Trumbull in the morning then Sugar Creek in the afternoon. Nymph action was good in the morning but virtually non-existent after lunch. There was a good BWO hatch starting about 3 PM. We found pods of risers eating them until 5 PM. The water was slightly off color from low-level snowmelt."
