We're proud to bring a new weekly feature to the blog this season. Every week, we'll bring you a guided trip report fresh off of the water from one of our professional Fly Fishing Guides. Each week, we will feature a report that will detail the location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging. For this week's feature, here's a report from Trouts Denver Guide Tucker Bamford.
LOCATION: South Platte River
GUIDE: Tucker Bamford
LENGTH OF TRIP: Full Day Walk/Wade
"Fish are stacked in softer water along the edges with a few in riffles. The lower river has been slow for me lately. You might want to try a worm. If that doesn’t work, try a worm. And if all else fails, try a worm. We saw a few stray risers for caddis in the morning, and a few PMD’s in the afternoon."
Best Flies
San Juan Worm (Brown) #8
San Juan Worm (Tan) #8
Olive Pine Squirrel Leech #10
