Featured Trouts Guide Report of the Week - 9/16 Edition

Ivan Orsic / Sep 16, 2019

We're proud to bring a new weekly feature to the blog this season. Every week, we'll bring you a guided trip report fresh off of the water from one of our professional Fly Fishing Guides. Each week, we will feature a report that will detail the location, timing, hatch information, fly selection, and rigging. For this week's feature, here's a report from Trouts Frisco Guide Tim Suplee

LOCATION: Colorado River
GUIDE:
Tim Suplee
LENGTH OF TRIP:
Full Day Float Trip
FLOWS:
1800 cfs

Clarity- A little color not clear but not stained. A lot of smaller fish throughout the day. Bigger fish eating on the upper stretch. Most fish were caught on various droppers with a respectable number of hopper eats. Lots of bugs hatching, red quills, small BWOs (Blue-Winged Olives), tricos, caddis, midges, big PMDs (Pale Morning Duns) in the afternoons! The Hopper-dropper rig pulled most fish. Switched to dries in the afternoon and got some eats on small parachutes and the like.
