It's winter in Colorado. Are we the first to break that news? Anyways, winter fishing is here. That means midges and attractors are the name of the game with a blue-winged olive mixed in here and there. If you run into a sunny day without wind, be prepared for some dry fly fishing!

Fish will hang out in faster water than we'd like to give them credit for this time of year. However, as a general rule, they'll be huddled up in the deep, slow pools where their effort levels are at a minimum and access to slow moving food is at a maximum. They'll move into the faster water when given a reason to. Namely, ample food and warming water temperatures.
