We made it. Goodbye, Bi-Weekly Video Fishing Report & Forecast! Hello, Trouts Fly Fishing Forecast! Big thanks to everyone who commented on the last episode. There were so many worthy entries that we decided to give out a couple of Trouts Prize Packs!
As we progress through February, stoneflies are going to play a bigger and bigger role. February and March are prime times for stoneflies to start molting and that means more of them will be floating downstream for trout to gobble up. It's definitely still winter, so focus on midges, BWOs, and attractors. With the higher than average flows, sizing down tippet is less important.
With midges serving as the most common fare on both tailwaters and freestones alike, pay attention to your drift and depth. Adjust those and the patterns should matter less.
