Trouts Fly Fishing Forecast | March 19th Edition

Ivan Orsic / Mar 19, 2020

There's no other way to say it, 2020 has been the weirdest year in recent memory and one that we certainly hope takes a turn for the better in the very near future. For us, fishing serves as a great distraction and escape from the day-to-day grind. Now more than ever, it's a great way to separate yourself from the real world and if you can do it responsibly - Social Distance. Oh yes, we went there. The most overused way of accurately describing the activity we all know and love. Let's get to the Forecast.

Colorado welcomed spring with a huge pile of snow, which is to be expected, but that shouldn't put a damper on the quality fishing that can be had on many of our favorite rivers. Midges (big and small), blue-winged olives, and even caddis are starting rustle around. March and April can be two of the snowiest months of the year here in Colorado.

We've added another segment to the Forecast. For year's we've kept a private online "Guide Shack" where guides would leave trip reports from their recent trips on the water. They'd talk flies, flows, weather, rigging and the like. Starting earlier this week, we added the Guide Shack to our website and we'll be featuring a Guide Report in every upcoming episode of the Forecast. Check out the Guide Shack HERE.
