As the situation regarding COVID-19 continues to develop here in Colorado, I wanted to provide our customers with an update on where things stand at Trouts Fly Fishing. We will be sure to continue to update customers if any new developments emerge in the coming days.
Trouts Denver - Our Denver location is open for modified business hours. With that said, we are asking that customers who are symptomatic, or anyone who has recently traveled to Pitkin, Gunnison, Eagle and/or Summit Counties to refrain from coming in the store. We do understand that people who have been to these areas still may want to go fishing, so we are offering “Curb Side Pick-Up” on all online and phone orders. So, if you’d prefer to minimize human-to-human contact, give us a call and we’ll get everything you need and leave it in our designated Order Pick-Up bins located outside the shop. We will be extending Happy Hour pricing on Flies & Terminal Tackle to all day, every day.
Trouts Frisco - On Sunday evening I made the difficult decision to close our Frisco location in an effort to protect our customers and employees due to the feared community spread of the virus in that area. Yesterday afternoon Summit County officials issued a public health order mandating the closure of all non-essential business until further notice. We do understand that people who have been to these areas still may want to go fishing, so we are offering “Curb Side Pick-Up” on all online and phone orders. Simply place your order online or by calling the shop, and we’ll have your order ready to pickup. We will be opening our Frisco location as soon as local officials deem it safe and will keep your customers abreast of any other developments.
Classes - Out of an abundance of caution and in an attempt to discourage any unnecessary person-to-person interactions, we have chosen to postpone all of our scheduled in-store classes. We are working on creating an online option for these, and will keep all of our customers up to date with any progress on this front.
Seminars - All current and future seminars will be filmed and then posted to our YouTube channel. Our first seminar with this new format will be “Euro Nymphing for the Euro-Curious" featuring Russell Miller” which will be posted on Friday. Please check our events calendar for all future online seminars.
Online - We are currently analyzing and planning on how we can utilize our website to not only offer customers a way to purchase product, but also as an enhanced mechanism of fly fishing education, entertainment, information, and expertise. Stay tuned for more information on these enhanced online offerings.
Guided Trips - All guided trips are going forward as scheduled. We are taking added precautions to minimize unnecessary interactions by mandating that our clients drive themselves to and from the fishing destination. All equipment used on our guided trips is being fully disinfected after each trip.
We understand that these are uncertain times, and we appreciate all of our customer’s understanding as we at Trouts navigate this on a daily basis. We have greatly appreciated all of the support and patronage throughout the past couple of weeks, and we want our customers to know that through this crisis we are committed to ensuring our customers are able to use Fly Fishing as a mechanism to help find mental peace and health. The act of standing in a river and casting a fly is a meaningful activity, so please be sure to let us know how else we can help enhance your time on the water.
