The Deckers stretch of the S. Platte River is a phenomenal resource that I know holds a soft spot in many of our hearts. Sure it can get a little crowded at times and the fish can get a little moody. Or perhaps (if you're anything like me) you've wanted to pop more than one drunken floaters inner tube during the summer. But all this aside, Deckers is an incredible fishery that gives us all the opportunity to catch some very large trout 365 days a year.
Hint hint: this is where you come in. Join the Trouts crew as we head to Deckers to give a little back to this stretch of river that gives us all so much. Whether intentional or not, the amount of traffic this place receives inevitably leads to quite a bit of waste being littered around the area. And that right there is why on Sunday November 20th we'll be headed to Deckers to walk the banks and clean things up a bit....and yes, probably catch a few fish afterwards.
Details:
Date: Sunday 11/20
Goal: Break out into groups to canvas the area, picking up all litter and trash we may find
Timeline:
8:00am - Meet at the Post Office in Sedalia. (4195 Douglas Ave) and caravan from there.
8:45am- Arrive at designated area and begin cleaning.
12:00pm- Meet-up at designated location (TBD) to grill out lunch and enjoy some 'refreshments'
12:45-whenever: GO FISH!
If this sounds like your idea of a great way to spend a Sunday (we checked, the Broncos have a bye week that day) then we look forward to seeing you there!
