Voluntary Fishing Closure on Eagle and Roaring Fork Rivers || July 23, 2021

Ivan Orsic / Jul 23, 2021

An update from CPW regarding voluntary fishing closures on The Eagle and Roaring Fork Rivers will be enacted starting Saturday, July 24th, 2021. The specifics of the closures are as follows:

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking your cooperation in a voluntary AFTER-NOON FISHING CLOSURE (12 PM - 12 AM) on the EAGLE RIVER from Wolcott (Hwy 131 Bridge) to the Colorado River beginning July 24th, 2021.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking your cooperation in a voluntary AFTER-NOON FISHING CLOSURE (12 PM - 12 AM) on the ROARING FORK RIVER from CARBONDALE (Hwy 133 Bridge) to the Colorado River beginning July 24th, 2021.

Please fish farther upstream and at higher elevation waters where environmental factors are less severe. If stressful conditions persist or compliance with the closure does not occur, Colorado Parks and Wildlife can implement a mandatory fishing closure to protect the fishery resource. Closures will change following a period of recovery for the fishery and sustained environmental improvements.

As always if you have any questions regarding closures or regulations head over to Colorado Parks and Wildlife's website or give the Glenwood Springs office a call at (970)-947-2920. We and CPW thank every angler for their continued support and cooperation with this matter.
