When you step into the water and approach a feeding fish, there are plenty of variables working against you and an effective, fish-catching presentation. Wind, complex hydraulics, and natural structure will all do their part in complicating or preventing a good presentation whether in fresh or saltwater. With it's primary focus of maximizing versatility, the all-new G Loomis NRX+ provides the power, line speed, and loop stability that you expect from a modern fast action rod and still manages to maintain great "feel" and finesse when casting in close.
The replacement to the now iconic NRX, the all-new NRX+ family is comprised of 20 individual actions with specific freshwater, saltwater, and two-handed applications in mind. The G Loomis NRX+ is rolled with Loomis' most advanced compound taper construction to date and features Dynamic Recovery Technology (DRT). DRT is a blended system of several elements. Their all-new Mega Modulus+ graphite matrix and GL8 resin system, combined with the industry's most advanced compound taper construction process, creates crisp actions with smooth and rapid recovery. Loomis reimagined their proprietary Multi-Taper Design technology. Traditionally used to enhance durability and swing weight, the G Loomis design team developed a method of applying a similar process to improve loading efficiency and feedback. This widens the power and recovery "sweet spot", providing performance with feel regardless of casting distance.
There are four distinct families in the NRX+ line: NRX+, NRX+ S (for saltwater), NRX+ Switch & Spey, and the NRX+ LP (for light presentations). Each rod in the NRX+ line features single foot recoil guides, Titanium SiC stripper guides, and AAA grade cork grip. Additionally, each NRX+ comes in an aluminum rod tube with a cloth rod bag. Retail for the NRX+ starts at $798. The NRX+ is available in 4 through 8 weights. The NRX+ S is available in 7 through 12 weights. The NRX+ LP is available in 3 through 6 weights. We expect the NRX+ to land at Trouts on October 16th, but your NRX+ can be pre-ordered today.
