May and June are tremendous months to dial in your warmwater game. From carp to bass, pike to wipers, now is a great time to explore the state's warmwater fisheries. If you've been looking to decode your local warmwater haunts, we've got a couple of on-the-water classes coming up in June that will help you take the next step.
Given current events, we're changing the way these on-the-water classes are being conducted. First and probably the most notable is the reduction of class sizes. As we proceed forward, our on-the-water classes will be limited to 3 students a class. Additionally, the classroom portion of each class will be done over ZOOM. Check out our upcoming warmwater classes!
CARP SCHOOL | JUNE 6TH, 2020
Catching Carp on a fly rod is considered the ultimate freshwater challenge by many anglers. They’re smart, spooky, and at times downright challenging! During this on-water school, our expert instructor, Rick Mikesell, will provide you with the knowledge and tactics to increase your success when pursuing this worthy gamefish.
Offered through our Denver shop, the on-the-water portion of the class will be preceded by a 1-hour ZOOM presentation addressing gear, flies, the fish, and presentations. On June 6th, the class will head to a designated location and cover presentation, and tactics. Bring your favorite 6 or 7 weight rod and appropriate reel. A valid 2020 Colorado Fishing License is required. (COST: $250)
PIKE SCHOOL | JUNE 13TH, 2020
Pike can produce some of the most explosive and entertaining eats of any fish that calls Colorado home. Fly fishing for pike is one of the most addicting pursuits in the sport. While they can be aggressive, pike can also be difficult to catch. If you’ve been looking to chase the so-called ‘Water Wolf’ here in the Centennial State, then don't miss our upcoming Pike School.
Offered through our Denver shop, the on-the-water portion of the class will be preceded by a 2-hour ZOOM presentation addressing seasonality, fishing locations, fish behavior, appropriate gear and flies. Saturday morning, class will resume at a designated location and cover presentation, and tactics on water. The remainder of the day will be spent targeting your quarry. Bring your favorite 8 or 9 weight rod and appropriate reel. A valid 2020 Colorado Fishing License is required. (COST: $325)
