Fly Casting is the cornerstone of the sport of fly fishing and a necessary skill for any proficient angler to master. With that said, there is something unnatural about the fly casting motion. In our Trouts Beginner Casting Class, we strive to make the art of fly casting an enjoyable process to learn. To do this, we have curated our Beginner Casting Clinics to be an encompassing experience that provides value to anyone who participates. We will focus on the primary casting approaches and types to set you up for success on any trout water.
Saltwater Prep School | March 6th & 27th | 8 AM to 4 PM @ Trouts Denver
One thing is for sure; you can’t catch what you can’t present your fly to. Anyone who has been on the bow of a skiff has undoubtedly either trout set or was simply ill-prepared to get the fly to its intended target. Trust us, we’ve all been there!
To help ensure our customers are ready for their upcoming saltwater adventures, we started our salt-water prep school to provide our clients with the necessary skillset to make sure your presentation counts. During this class, we will cover loop formation, line speed, double-haul casting, and most importantly PRESENTATION! We will review best practices that help you and your guide work as a team. This school is offered exclusively out of our Denver, CO location.

Our One-Day Beginner Fly Fishing school is the perfect culmination of our Beginner Fly Fishing Series. This day on the water is built around empowering you as an independent angler. Nymphing School | March 6th & 27th | 8 hours on the water
As we begin to approach the colder months, we tend to see less dry fly activity. Although this may be the case, this shouldn’t keep you from getting out to fish. It’s no secret that trout spend the majority of their time feeding subsurface (upwards of 80%). In Vegas, those are some pretty good odds!
In order to more successfully fish to the subsurface trout, nymphing is the most common and productive technique. Trouts Nymphing School will introduce and dial you in to rigging, roll casting, presentation, mending, and proper drifting techniques. Our goal at the end of the class is for the individual angler to be more confident in their Nymphing technique to improve your success on your trips to the river!
Streamer School | March 27th | 8 hours on the waterAs one of the most exciting ways to chase trout, "hucking meat" or streamer fishing is becoming a well-known phrase around Colorado. Hooking a fish on a streamer is a detailed memory you will maintain for years to come.
