Over the years at Trouts we have built some amazing relationships with some local anglers. We love to hear about their success as well as do whatever we can to support them along their journey! That is why we were excited to catch up with Kelli over the last few weeks to find out about all the exciting things she has going on! From hosted trips (that I'm jealous I can't be a part of) to fly fishing apparel Kelli continues to be an amazing ambassador for the ever growing women's fly fishing community.
Who is Kelli Jackson you might ask?
Besides being a great partner with Trouts, Kelli Jackson is a Colorado native who found her love of fly fishing in southwest Colorado. As a student at Western State, it was a natural fit to enjoy the outdoors; as Gunnison County had quite the offerings. Kelli was handed a fly rod her freshman year and has continued to grow her love of finding perspective and new experiences from wading in thigh high deep rivers or floating down emerald blue waters in search of the buzz of the reel with a fish on! Kelli founded AnglHer in 2013 in search of an identity for women who fished. People always seem to trip over the word fly fisherman, or fisherperson. She was neither. Just a girl who likes to fish and wanted to create a brand for women's apparel. Her background in event planning and mentoring ignited a desire to create "experience" fly fishing vacations and education classes for women. Kelli continues to design and produce apparel and host fly fishing trips, she also has a kid's line of apparel called Lil Buggers and is raising her two year old twin future anglers in Lakewood, CO with her husband, and display designer, Sean Jackson.
Now that we know Kelli, What is Anglher?
AnglHer specializes in women's fly fishing apparel (mostly bamboo) and unforgettable hosted fly fishing adventures. We know that as women it can be difficult to relax and turn off the chatter in our brains (work, kids, working out, meal planning, budgeting, etc.) so we help quiet the mind and take care of all of the details of our hosted trips, so the focus can be on fly fishing, relaxation and adventure. We choose great fisheries, interview and fish with each of our shops/resorts and hand select the guides for each hosted adventure. These men and women who host you on the water are vital to a successful and enjoyable trip - so when you are in their boat, you are their guest and they have the same attention to detail, care and service as when you are a guest in an AnglHer lodge/cabin/resort. Our trips are all-inclusive (exceptions include fishing licenses, flights, alcohol & gratuity). We say "get there and we will handle the rest." Domestic trips include wine pairing dinners with chef prepared meals and international trips include local beer and rum. All meals, fishing equipment, lodging/accommodations and guides are provided. We have a comprehensive preference sheet that helps us to make each AnglHer's trip unique and unforgettable.
