Patterns that get down and are simple to tie are always welcome in any angler's fly box. So, with that in mind, we're twisting up a variant of this classic point fly from Lance Egan. With a couple of omissions and material changes, the Jigged Frenchie straight up catches fish and gets your other flies into the strike zone. It's a pretty simple tie and one that allows you to fill your fly box quickly for your next trip to the river.
Let's all welcome Trouts Denver's Eric Schmidt to the off-season Fly Tying Series. If you're looking at getting into fly tying, Eric is a terrific instructor. We have several Fly Tying Classes coming up including Umpqua Fly Tying 101 on February 4th and 18th & Umpqua Fly Tying 201 on February 11th and 25th. Call 303-733-1434 to sign up for one of our upcoming fly tying classes!
