Over the past week, we teamed up with Umpqua Feather Merchants to talk about the one and only, Caddis. If you were to take a quick look through the scientific textbooks you would be in awe at the seemingly endless amount of caddisfly species in existence. These flies come in a variety of patterns, sizes, and colors. Among other things, these flies are known for their unique display on the water. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall months you can find these bugs bouncing off the water, skating around the surface all while trying to lay eggs, and inadvertently providing various food sources for hungry trout. Since the world of Caddis can be a bit daunting we thought it would be best to show you how to outfit your own fly box for caddisflies. Join Russ Miller and Ivan Orsic as they walk you through how to build out a fly box specifically for caddisflies.
