WATCH: TROUTS FLY TYING - TYING GUNKEL’S DOUBLE SHOT BAETIS WITH SHEA GUNKEL

Umpqua Feather Merchants Signature Fly Designer and Guide Shea Gunkel dropped by the shop to tie his latest creation, the Double Shot Baetis fly. A variation of his popular and fishy Shotglass Baetis, the Double Shot Baetis features an additional tungsten bead to help get this fly down into the feeding zone. While Shea chose to tie the "Charlie Blackmon" variation (read: Black and Purple version) of the Double Shot Baetis, this nymph can be tied in a variety of sizes and colors to imitate a wide selection of mayflies.
