Get ready for your next Saltwater trip!

For many of us land-locked fly anglers, fly fishing the saltwater can be an intriguing and intimidating venture. You hear tales of fish that peel drag and test the limits of your gear and angling skills. If you're anything like us, you're chomping at the bit to try and crack that nut...and you're a little overwhelmed when you try to figure out how to put yourself in the most favorable of positions.

Whether you're looking to make your maiden voyage to the saltwater or you're a veteran of the flats, make plans to be at our shop for Umpqua's Alec Gerbec's "Deciphering Tides for Your Next Saltwater Trip" presentation. Trust us, you won't want to miss this!

Alec Gerbec, an accomplished and experienced angler, was the head fly fishing guide at Alphonse Fishing Company - one of the most tide-dependent fisheries in the world. With years of experience in both fresh and saltwater, Alec developed a deep understanding of tides and the effect they have on all flats (and even bluewater) species.

Topics to be discussed: Tide terminology, as well as, how moon phases, tidal flows, and water conditions affect a saltwater fishery. There will also be plenty of time for Q&A!
