TRIP SUMMARY

Great afternoon fishing the Blue in Silverthorne. A recent bump in flows had fish very active and happy. We hit the water around 1 PM and found a nice group of fish feeding both up top and down below the surface. Try a small Parachute Adams #20 or smaller when you find some Blue River risers. While fish were looking up, we consistently took fish nymphing as well. Top producers were an egg and a leech but grabbed fish on small midge and baetis patterns also. Try a #22 Bling Midge or a #20 Juju Baetis. Right around 4 PM, air temps started to drop and it pretty much shut the fishing off entirely. Get out during the warm parts of the day and take advantage of spring time fishing!
