Great day down on the South Platte. It was still quite chilly (low 20's) when we arrived at the river around 8:15AM. Fish were keyed in on midges early on while it remained cold outside. By mid morning things started to warm up a bit and fish became more active. With the recent bump in flows we saw the occasional rise however not enough to produce any significant dry fly fishing. We found success on a variety of baetis nymphs, as well as leech and egg patterns. On sunny days like today don't move too quickly, sight fishing is your friend! A fish visibly eating in the column is more than likely to give you a shot with a well presented drift.
