What else is there to say? The Eagle is on fire right now! The river is definitely starting to push a bit more with warmer days beginning to have an impact on our above average snowpack. We spent the day nymphing, picking apart softer seams and pocket water. If it looks like it's got enough structure to hold a trout or two, chuck a cast in there and more than likely you'll be rewarded. In deeper, faster sections, adjust depth and weight accordingly so that your bugs are getting down and dirty in the zone. Top flies on the day were a Thread Frenchie (16) and Zebra Midge (20). We had success with black, olive, and two tone (olive/black) Zebra Midges however it didn't seem to matter-- with good presentation they were going to chow it!
