TRIP SUMMARY

Fun morning session on the Blue! Water is pumping out of the dam at 100 cfs and fish have been able to spread out a bit. Be willing to cover ground but be persistent when you are working an area. That water is ice cold coming out of the bottom of Dillon, so sometimes you’ve got to bonk em right on the beak with your bugs to finally get that eat. For us, leeches and small midges were the ticket. Try a Bling Midge in 22 or Mercury Midge in 20. With the river pushing out at 100 cfs make sure you have enough split shot to get those bugs down in the zone quickly!
