Great afternoon on the Blue River in Silverthorne! Flows are down to 75 cfs and with air temps finally starting to get warm in the afternoon, fish are very active and happy! Nymphing with 5x/6x is the name on the game when water is low and gin clear on the Blue. Make sure to be tinkering with the amount of split shot you are using as well as depth to your first fly as you move around and cover water. We alternated between an egg and a leech as our attractor. Both took multiple fish, but the leech seemed to be the more popular option among the trout today. Top fly however was an 18 Rainbow Warrior. Can't beat it when that sun is shining high in the sky. For what it's worth, fishing slowed significantly around 5 PM when the air temps started to drop. We still managed to find a few more but it was by no means lights out like the first few hours on the water early to mid afternoon.
