Great afternoon fishing the Blue in Silverthorne! As our days get warmer we are starting to see many rivers along the Front Range push quite a bit of water. Until we get through peak runoff, tailwater’s and still water is the name of the game for finding clean and manageable water for wade fishing. Water on the Blue below Lake Dillon is kicking out around 100 cfs and the water is gin clear. Nymphing w/ 4x and 5x is the recipe for success- adjust your weight and depth accordingly as you move around the river. Sight fishing is key! Often times fish are closer than you’d expect and a short, well presented cast will get the job done. Try a leech or an egg as an attractor with a couple of small midges below it. Rainbow Warriors (18) have been working great as well!
