TRIP SUMMARY

Another epic morning fishing the Blue River through Silverthorne! We started behind the theater and worked our way up towards the 70 bridge picking off fish along the way. Nymphing is the name of the game on the Blue River especially with temps still dropping into the 30s overnight. Adjust weight and depth accordingly as you bounce around to different spots on the river. Fish are often sitting on the bottom- use enough weight to get those bugs down quick! Eggs were our top producer but also caught fish on Rainbow Warriors and small midge patterns. Try a Top Secret Midge or a Jujubee Midge in size 20 or 22.
