Great day back down at the Dirty D after some time up in the mountains. They had Deckers pushing at 500+ cfs for a little bit but things have since simmered down and were looking at about 230 cfs for a couple of days now. Fish are happy and willing to eat bugs! When fishing deeper sections with faster water, make sure you're using enough weight to get those bugs down in the zone quickly. Any place you can toss a cast into a softer pocket on the edge of some faster water, fire away! If there is one willing to play, there is likely another one sitting not far from his buddy. We saw sporadic caddis and baetis come off throughout the day but never enough to trigger a noteworthy amount of noses. For an attractor try a worm or a leech, for bugs try a caddis to a smaller baetis. We consistently caught fish on a Buckskin (16) and a Splitback BWO (18 & 20).
