We had a great day on the Williams Fork! The bigger fish were hiding from us today but we got good numbers of both browns and cutbows up to about 14”. As a bonus we saw a good enough midge hatch mid-day to bring a bunch of fish to the surface. You gotta love throwing dry flies in December! Our best flies were eggs, midge nymphs, baetis nymphs, and small parachute Adams.
It snowed on and off all day. The drive was a bit messy as a result and the walk to and from the river was a lot of work with about 8” of fresh snow on the ground. If you head that way, plan on some extra time for the drive and the hike to the river.
