Arriving on the river around 9 a.m., fishing started off slow but quickly, fish started to key on midges. We picked off a few fish in deep buckets just off riffles of key midge patterns until around 11am. I found a few rising fish and tied on a classic renegade, we picked off just about every riser we could landing a few on dries! As water warmed slightly, we saw sporadic Blue Wing olives as well but no fish rising to them for the midges were dominant. But I noticed a barr's emerger started to outperform around 1 p.m. To end the day we threw streamers and capped off the day with a couple of quality trout! Overall fantastic day of fishing with nymphs, dries and even streamers!
Let's go fishing!
