Another great day on the South Platte at Deckers. This fishery has really been fishing well for me and I anticipate that trend continuing. Had a group of 3 first timers that picked it up quick and were on fish within minutes. We found success nymphing midge imitations in the riffles to start. A size 20 $3 dip and size 18 pure larvae had us bent the entire morning. Sight fishing to feeding trout in shallow riffles was absolutely key and also made it incredibly exciting. After lunch we had a little bit of a slow period but soon found some willing fish. Leeches were the ticket in the afternoon and put several nice fish in the net for us. Only saw a few blue wings olives but very few fish rising to them. Saw a couple caddis flying around in the afternoon so stock those fly boxes! Should start to see them soon! Good luck out there
