TRIP SUMMARY

Recently The Eagle has been seeing colder temperatures overnight, with significant increases in temperatures throughout the day. The fishing has certainly reflected this. Fish get the cold water they need overnight paired with healthy insect hatches throughout the warmer part of the day, they are happy! Blanket trico hatches have been my standout favorite part of these days. Main success comes from fishing subsurface, though many rising fish are still seen sporadically throughout the day. Fly choice varied but kept to one basic concept; smaller the better. Low and clear waters give these fish the opportunity to really examine a fly, the smaller the fly, the less likely they are to second guess it, simple as that. Flies used with success were: Wd-40s (#20), juju baetis in blue (#20-22), radiation baetis in orange (#20), with on hopper eat - Chubby Chernobyl in black (#14). The eagle is fishing very well right now.
