Ryan Wooten & Tim Suplee
Standard procedure of meeting our clients at 8 AM, drinking some coffee, discussing final trip details, and telling fishing lies. We packed up and headed out to the beautiful Blue River to fish a section just north of the town of Silverthorne. After gearing up and being greeted by the morning sun rising over The Gore Range, we had a quick casting clinic and right to business. These guys learned fast, within 5 minutes of fishing, lines started going tight and Head Guide Tim Suplee and I quickly went to work! Over the course of the day, 35+ plus fish were hooked and 15 hit the net. These fish were hot! Fish were fed on subtle mysis patterns, jujubee midge in red and eggs. Good news: I saw a few caddis out and about and ants were everywhere. Don't shy away from carrying a second dry fly rod. Maybe even rigged with an Elk Hair Caddis to a small ant pattern 18" apart, you might be surprised!
